Molly stayed with Kristy today so I'll let her type up a blog about today. We didn't go to MCV tonight to let Kristy rest. Thank you all for prayers and comments I know Kristy will want to respond to each of you when she is able.
In January of 2008, Kristy was a healthy, 34 year old, mother of four children and loved driving her school bus route every day. Talk about a life change, when a big pain in your arm turns out to be a life threatening diagnosis of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. In it's advanced form, no less, with lots of unattractive complications. After weeks in ICU and losing over 100 lbs, Kristy is told her only option for survival is a Bone Marrow Transplant. She bravely chooses to live, and has endured more chemotherapy, procedures, probes, tests, drugs, needles and hospital stays, than the average person could tolerate....but she keeps her chin up and presses on solidly, with a tremendous will to live...one step at a time.
This site will allow her friends and family to follow her progress, trials and successes, as she undergoes her Bone Marrow Transpant at MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA.
Check back often for updates, and leave a comment or a cheerful word for Kristy. She may not always feel up to writing, but she enjoys hearing from everyone.
